~~~~~~~~~~
There is no record of who Judith Chastain married. When she sold property on November 6, 1733 (apparently she was pregnant with child) which she inherited from her father. The deed listed her name as Judith Bellew, widow.
Giles Ballew is the only person who could have been her husband. But there is no record to concretely prove this to be a fact.
The first bastard child of Judith Chastain-Ballew was either the child of Roger Powell or Anthony Boggat, some named a son as Stephen Ballew, if this was her son he was born prior to September 1730. But I have found no record of what his name was.
The second bastard child was Thomas Ballew, and he was born prior to May 1731. In June 1731, Thomas Walker confessed as to be the father of this child, and Thomas Ballew was an ophan by May 1734. (Judith Chastain-Ballew was no longer living in this area).
The third bastard child was Elizabeth Ballew and in December 1739 Elizabeth Ballew was listed as around age six, therefore, she was born about 1733. DNA proves that was a daughter of Thomas Prewitt, she married John Farmer.
The fourth and final bastard child was Renney Ballew (born prior to May 1736).
Judith (Chastain) Ballew last record was in 1744. Thus, she likely died in Amelia District, Virginia around 1745. But she may have even moved to Lunenbury with Thomas Prewitt around 1750.
There is also DNA links between David Prewitt and William Prewitt to Renney Ballew and Elizabeth Ballew. The DNA confirms a close relationship between Thomas Prewitt and wife Mary Chastain and Thomas Prewitt and Judith Ballew.
Although, it is true that Peter Chastain did have a daughter by the name of Mary Chastain. In the title transfere of property her name was still listed as Mary Chastian. The woman that Thomas Prewitt married (widow of Nicholas DuCray was not the daughter of Peter Chastain. She was likely the half-sister of Peter Chastain.
People have assumed that Abraham Prewitt and Abraham Ballew was the same person, but they were not.
Thomas Prewitt deeded 150 acres to Abraham Prewitt on May 15, 1759; and 100 acres (July 19, 1764). Abraham Prewitt was still in Halifax on November 28, 1764.
He moved to Rowan, North Carolina and sold 170 acres of his 250 acres on October 19, 1767.
There was an Abraham Prewitt was enlisted into Lt Colonel Army in Spartanburg, South Carolina but I doubt that this is the same Abraham Prewitt, son of Thomas Prewitt. ]
and
Judith Chastain was the oldest daughter of Pierre/Peter Chastain. Her mother was Pierre's second wife, Anne Soblet. Judith was born around 1703, just a few years after her parents arrived in the Virginia colony. In the early to mid-1720s, she married Gille Ballew, who also was from France. We know of only one child they had together, Peter Ballew, who was likely born in 1729. Gille Ballew died before March 18, 1729 (1728 according to the pre-Gregorian calendar in use at that time) when Thomas Randolph made an oath that Giles Ballew departed this life without making a will. Estate appraisers were John Chastain, Abraham Sallee and Isaac Sallee. Soon after the death of Giles Ballew, Judith Chastain Ballew had seven entries in the span of ten months in Goochland County court records regarding her having a bastard child. The first was entered into court records on November 18, 1729 when a Grand Jury was sworn in to hear several cases including one regarding "Judith Ballew for having one bastard child." The series of entries concluded in September 1730 when a Grand Jury convicted her "for having one bastard child" and she was "ordered to pay unto the church wardens of St. James Parish five hundred pounds of tobacco." In May 1731 another grand jury was sworn to hear several cases including "Judeth Bellow for a Bastard Child." In June 1731 she was "presented for having a bastard child Thomas Walker confesses judgment for five hundred pounds of tobacco and is ordered to pay the same to church wardens of St. James Parish." Because of the lack of punctuation, it's unclear what relationship Thomas Walker had to Judith Ballew. Some have speculated he was the father of her child; however, we believe that Thomas Walker was representing Judith Ballew and/or providing security for the payment. On the same page of court cases, it says "John Mooney presented for swearing. James Taylor confesses judgment for fifty pounds of tobacco and it is ordered that the said John do pay the same to the church wardens of St. James Parish." With just a few more words and punctuation, it's apparent that James Taylor was merely representing John Mooney as was likely the case for Thomas Walker vis-á-vis Judith Ballew. In May 1736 Judith Ballew was indicted in Amelia Co., Va. for having a bastard child; however, we have found no record of a conviction in this case. A June 1739 court case, which appears to be a follow-up to an earlier appearance, indicates that Judith Balew was convicted "for having a bastard childe … and the said Judith failing to appear Judgment of last court is confirmed against the said Judith and Thomas Prewett her security and it is considered by the court that [he?] do pay 50 shillings or five hundred pounds of tobacco." This record has been used to suggest that Thomas Pruitt was the father of this particular child. If so, and if the child was Renney Belue, then this is where the birth year of 1738 likely comes from. The next two Amelia County court cases from December 1739 and July 1743 are ones in which children named Elizabeth Belew (about age 6) and Stephen Belew (no age given) were bound out by the church wardens. We're confident these two individuals were children of Judith Belew. The last two cases in Amelia County are ones in which it was indicated that Judith Ballew/Belew appeared as a witness for Thomas Prewitt. If we assume that these court cases represent the full extent of Judith Chastain Belue's run-ins with the judicial system, then we can possibly put names to each of the children born out of wedlock. The first two children born in Goochland Co., Va. were likely Elizabeth and Stephen Belew. The child referenced in the May 1736 court case may have been Abraham Belew. The last child referenced in 1739 was likely Renney Belue. Based on Thomas Pruitt's apparent close relationship with Judith Bellew, we suspect both Abraham Bellew, born around 1735 and Renney Belue, born around 1738, were the sons of Thomas Pruitt. We have clear Y-DNA evidence that Renney Belue was Thomas Pruitt's son and the fact that both Renney Pruitt and Abraham Pruitt received land from Thomas Pruitt, Sr. in 1759 suggests that both were his sons. We do not know when or where Judith Ballew died. She made her last appearance in Amelia Co., Va. records in 1747 when she appeared as a witness for Thomas Prewitt. She may have moved to Halifax Co., Va. with Thomas's family in order to be near her two sons, Renney and Abraham. She definitely did not marry Stephen Pankey and move to Chesterfield Co., Va. in the 1730s, as many researchers have suggested, since she continued to appear in Amelia County records as Judith Belew/Ballew after that marriage would have taken place. Stephen Pankey appears to have married a Judith, but her last name is unknown at this time.
Email from Stephen to me dated 2 Mar 2014 ~DMH
"Denny,
Marie's maiden name is Marie Louise Chisolm, DOB 8/8/1947.in Newport News VA to Loyd and Estelle Chisolm..
And yes I became in touch with the Borgio's on my 16th birthday, when a lawyer officiated the Hydrick adoption. By law ( I guess ) I had to give my permission. Well of course I did because i didn't know any parents other than Lawrence and Patty.
My birth father William Borgio passed away in the late 90's but I had been to Richmond VA a couple of times to visit him and his 2nd wife with my older brother Bill Borgio who lives in CA. I really didn't like my old man William very much and was damn glad I was nothing like him. I also have an older sister Linda Borgio in MINN and a half sister Gianetta Borgio in Richmond.
My birth mother Jane is also in MINN but we don't keep in touch.
Even though I'm adopted I have always considered myself a HYDRICK....thats the family who raised me and who I know best.
My desire for privacy only pertains to Social Media sites. Feel free to add any and all info about me to your database.
A bunch of us old DJ's put together a website for a great station we worked at, WROV in Roanoke VA at www.wrovhistory.com you will enjoy.
ENTER HERE! on that page and the scroll down to HEAR IT AGAIN! Look for my aircheck in the 70's section and you'll get an idea of what my act was all about. This aircheck is around 1975 I think when drugs were the brunt of most DJ jokes. Your closing line about "waiting for the white stuff" would have been a classic for me on a snowy Roanoke night, followed by a long loud "SSNNOOOOORRRRTTTTTT"!!
We'll prob get hit Monday here in Hampton. It is what it is.
And now you know.......the REST of the story!
"Subject: Alien Bigfoot filming Friday Night on Destination America
I hope you all enjoyed the Devil Monkey episode last Friday night. For all the time they spent shooting at our home, M2Pictures only used about 5 seconds of the side of our house with the Devil Monkey going thru the trash cans. But they also shot the Alien Bigfoot episode that night too.
This Friday night should have a lot more of our home, inside and out.
The Alien Bigfoot (see attached blurry photo taken on night of the shoot) was shot outside and in our living room with a woman watching tv. She hears a noise, grabs a rifle, see's the creature and shoots at it from our front porch. If we're lucky you may see some photos of my family on top of the tv stand or the wall in the living room, or the number 29 next to our garage door and over our front door.
Monsters and Mysteries In America will air this Friday night at 10 Eastern with the episode titled "Bigfoot from Outer Space".
Steve"
~~~
Denny,
Forgot to mention that the house from the 1950's part of the story with the antique car in the driveway was my neighbors house across the street. M2Pictures uses both of our homes. He has had murders, aliens and bodies buried of slabs of concrete in his garage and back yard in various shows they produce. I have a link somewhere for the previous film shoots here. If I can find it I'll send it to you.

General Notes: Husband - Jack Decker
On Monday, February 18th, 2019 Jack Decker passed away peacefully at the age of 91.
Jack was born in Monterey, California on May 3, 1927 to Lora Poe and Harry David Decker. He was the youngest of 7 children and weighing less than 3 lbs. he was not expected to live very long. He defied the odds and his long life was no surprise to those that knew and loved "Bad Jack". Jack spent his childhood in southern California where he attended Englewood High School. There he was a member of the tennis and basketball team and earned his letter in both sports. He graduated from high school in 1945.
In 1947, Jack earned a certificate in Mechanical Engineering from The Frank Wiggins Trade School in Los Angeles. After earning his certificate, Jack began a successful career as a draftsman at North American Aviation.
In 1957, Jack met and married his lifelong sweetheart Margaret Alice "Peggy" Christie. Jack and Peggy were married more than 48 years and he lovingly shared happy stories and memories of their life together to any and all that knew him.
"Bad Jack" spent his entire career in Aerospace; he was a true pioneer and "Rocket Scientist". After leaving North American, he joined Northrop, then went on to Ryan Aeronautical, Zenith Aircraft, Rheem Manufacturing, and finally the remainder of his career was spent with Lockheed. For 32 years, Jack worked for Lockheed Missiles and Space Division. Much of Jack's work was top secret; however, he was recognized for his many contributions on Lockheed's missile and satellite projects and even some Space Shuttle launches. He will forever be remembered through his contributions to aerospace, some of which are currently on display at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum.
Jack retired from Lockheed Martin Corporation in December 1989 and relocated to Arizona and finally to Texas. Jack loved golf and pursued it like all of his accomplishments. He hit a hole-in-one shortly after he retired and then happily gave up the game preferring to go out a winner. Jack's love of golf never wavered. Long after he gave it up, he could be found on his back patio overlooking the 6th green, offering advice or chuckling at the golfers over a missed pitch or putt.
Jack loved mathematics and numbers and enjoyed a quest for learning his entire life. He deeply loved his family and was very proud of their many accomplishments. "Bad Jack" could be counted on to bring a laugh or smile with his keen sense of humor and sharp wit. We will forever miss his sweet smile, fun-loving spirit, bourbon infused "Happy Hours" and feats of calculating the odds and quick math. "Bad Jack" lived a full life, was a wonderful man and deeply loved by all those lucky enough to know him. He will be sorely missed.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents, all of his siblings, and his wife of 48 years, Peggy. He is survived by his loving son, Brian Decker and wife Cynthia Hopkins; and their children: Cameron Hopkins and Alexis Hopkins of Georgetown, TX.

This immigration record shows him as being "single" (marital status) yet we know he had a wife before Rose. It's not inconceivable that he was 1) married/divorced while in Italy; or, 2) just told the immigration officials he was single (as in by himself if he didn't speak English well enough); or 3) married between arrival in 1905 but divorced (Mari Alonzo) at such time to marry Rose before Sadie was born 6 years later.

Camillo's census ages are definitely incorrect especially 1910 and 20. 1930, 40 and 50 seem to be correct which would lend to his birthyear being 1869. DMH

General Notes: Child - Rebeka (Rebecca) CLARK
When Rebecca Clark was born in 1712, her father, William, was 18, and her mother, Ms. Unknown, was 14. She married John Baldridge in 1733. They had 13 children in 30 years. She died in 18 Jul 1776 in Lincoln, North Carolina, at the age of 64.
She and John came to Philadelphia aboard the "Village Bell" in 1737. Data below comes from Ancestry.com which states Rebeka was born in Lancaster Co, PA but her FAG page states Ireland. Since her marriage and first three children were born in Ireland, I would suspect she was also (unless she had traveled back to Ireland and met John?). The Ancestry record also states (above) that she was born in 1712 which also makes better sense since she would have been 9 o 10 years old when she had her first child.
Here is the quandry:
1. What year was she born? Her gravestone records 1724-1823. There have been cases of gravestones being incorrect, especially when dealing with a birth 200 years ago; however, one would think the engraver would know what year it was when he made the stone (1823). The inscrption said she was 99y.o., so these gravestone dates would appear to be correct.
2. If the Find A Grave record is correct, then she was 9 or 10 years old when she gave birth to her first child.
