Judging by the birth dates of Maggie Lee Hydrick Stripling and Lillian Mozelle Hydrick Stripling, their mother, Malissa Shaw, married their father, James Elbert Hydrick, AFTER she married Robert B. Biddle. I had it backward when I sent the following suggestion:

Lena was the daughter of Robert B. Biddle and Joanna Elizabeth Byers. Robert Biddle and Joanna Elizabeth Byers married February 7, 1875 in Sanford/Lamar County, Alabama. Joanna was the first wife of Robert B. Biddle. Robert B was born November 1856. Joanna was born about 1856 and died after December 1897 and before 1900. I haven't been able to find the burial place of Robert B and Joanna Elizabeth. I would guess it was either in Millport, Lamar County, Alabama or Pickens County, Alabama.

Son of Robert B Biddle (b. November 1856) and Joanna Elizabeth Byers (b abt 1856 d after December 1897 and before 1900). His parents married on February 7, 1875. The June 25, 1880 census of Vail's, Pickens County, Alabama states he was only eight months old at the time and it shows that he was born in September. So his birth date would have been September 1879. The birth year of 1872 on his monument is not correct.

Pounder/Warrick Cemetery is located in Desha County, Arkansas off of Hway 4 (McGehee/Monticello Rd) two miles northwest of Bayou Bartholomew Bridge on the Old Albert Rogers Farm which is presently the Powell Farm. This is a very old cemetery. Most of the stones are down and part of the cemetery has caved into the bayou. A black walnut stump marks the spot where the old Warrick Chapel once stood. This was used as a church gathering place for people from miles around.

According to census information James M. Davis was born Dec. 18, 1855 and that is different to the date on his grave stone.

Relationship to Dennis Morgan Hydrick: 4th cousin twice removed
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dr. Cora wrote Bartina Faye Wilson Peoples on 10/5/2002 and gave her some corrections. I originally had her married to a George Polka (??) which is not true. She and her husband decided, before marrying, that she would retain her maiden name and that any children would also have the Hydrick name
~~~~~~~~~~~
Attended Vassar College in New York. Graduated with a B. A. degree in Elementary Education from the University of Arizona in 1966, married George Polka (14 Apr 1932), in March 1969. They have no children (NOTE: as of 1975)
As of 1975, Cora was a basic education instructor for Department of Labor Job Corps Manpower Center in Phoeniz, AZ.
This last paragraph taken from source: The Descendants of Major Jacob Haysmith Hydrick 1819-1903; Hydrick, Onan Augustus, pp.122-123. Per the note above it, purportedly from Cora herself to Bartina Wilson Peoples, Onan must have received bad information when writing this portion about her marriage to George Polka.

Amanda Dressendorfer, of Union, left, practices voice lessons with instructor Nicole Beach (vocal coach and vice president) at VHM Studio in Greenville on Thursday. The Christian artist training studio, which opened last year, currently has more than 100 students taking music, dance an acting lessons. Training studio looks to take students in a new direction.

Amanda Dressendorfer was not expected to live, much less sing, after a brain aneurysm five years ago. The 38 - year - old Union woman had performed and recorded albums with her family's Southern gospel band since age 3 Dressendorfer's aneurysm left her wheelchair - bound and voiceless for a while. It's taken a lot of work to sing and proclaim her love for God again. " I would have went crazy if I couldn't (sing), " she said. " So (God) gave me back my voice. " Dressendorfer has trained for two years with vocal coach Nicole Beach at VHM Studio & Records, a nonprofit Christian artist training studio in Greenville

General Notes: Husband - William McKinley "Birch" Birchfield

William never married Ola Morgan but they did have two children together and lived together for many years. So people wouldn't talk they would say that Ola was his sister in law…

William was always running from his fatherly responsibility. He didn't want a wife and children situation. My dad [Ckyde]says that his mother [Ola Mae] threatened William that she was gonna take the kids to an orphanage if he didn't come and get them. So they all lived In Missouri, not together but close by. So when William was planning to move to SC he stopped by and got Ola, Polly and Clyde. Maddie and Mack were with him. They all moved to Union SC.
William and Mack went to work in the cotton mill Millikan. Mack later joined the marines and left. When my dad was old enough he worked in the cotton mill. Ola was a nurse at the Union county home. Maddie was a home maker
