General Notes: Husband - John Gabriel Hydrick
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 24, 2000, for John Gabriel Hydrick, who died May 19, 2000. He was 44.
Mr. Hydrick was born February 23, 1956, in San Diego, Calif.
John was a 34 year resident of Tahoe, loved the outdoors and shared all of his loves with his daughters, Heidi and Brittany, and later, his wife Barbara and step-children Sam and Julia.
At the age of 16, he was an accomplished pilot, rock climber, hang glider pilot, and scuba diver. He dove all over the United States, Australia, and the Red, Japan, and China Seas. But his passion was whitewater kayaking and rafting. He kayaked most of the Class V rivers in the United States. He loved to assist novice white-water enthusiasts down any river of their choice. He was in great demand as a river guide. To relax, he sailed Tahoe and San Francisco Bay. His great love and respect for the environment and God's creations inspired and taught everyone who knew him to be a little kinder to Mother Nature.
John Graduated from South Tahoe High School in 1974. In 1977-78, he served a two year mission to Korea and Little Korea in Chicago for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which profoundly influenced his life. Despite severe health trails, he never lost his faith in God. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Business from Brigham Young University, after which he served an internship with the United State Department of State, Korea Office, translating top-secret documents. He was heavily recruited by the FBI, CIA, and NSA, but chose to work in the private sector and live in the West.
A self-sufficient person, he was a master cabinet-maker and carpenter. He never bragged about his abilities or accomplishments; he simply did things for the love of them.
He served as a Scoutmaster in the Boy Scouts of America in Carson City for seven years and taught many young men the skills that came no naturally to him. He was fluent in Korean and Japanese and worked for Bently Nevada Corporation, Minden, Nevada as Manager of Foreign Languages, where he supervised development, translation and production of corporate literature for this multi-national corporation. His job assignments took him all over the world, and his family often went with him. He was as comfortable on top of Mount Fuji as in the subways of Tokyo. He knew the canals of Venice and the Art of Florence, the architecture of Tianamen Square and he walked the Great Wall of china. A two month backpacking odyssey on $400 took him through the streets of Athens, Cairo, and Jerusalem and their environs. John loved theater and classical music and was at home in the best theaters in San Francisco and on Broadway. Despite his travels, he loved his simple homes in Carson City and Tahoe best.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Jean Hydrick, daughters, Heidi and Brittany Hydrick, stepson, Samuel Sourikoff, stepdaughter, Julia Sourikoff; (predeceased by wife Sharon Elizabeth Wood Hydrick); mother, June Carsten, father Plymton Hydrick, brothers, Rick, Carter, George, and Don; sisters, Michaell Allen, Ora Smith, Christi Hydrick; grandmother, Marie Whitehurst; various aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Saints chapel, corner of Spruce and Herbert Avenues, South Lake Tahoe, followed by a Graveside service at Happy Homestead Cemetery.

Sarah is listed as "housekeeper". Not sure if she is a wife to John or not? She is listed as 30 years old, which would be 5 years older than John. Did John have a sister Sarah?
John's wife was Harriet, or Hattie, not Sarah. Could the William Headright in 1860, Abbeville, SC Census be William Hydrick?
William Headright had a wife name Sarah L. She is listed as 30 in 1860, though.

John and Earle had no children
General Notes: Wife - Mary Harriett Livingston
At 2 o'clock this afternoon at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Livingston, Miss Mary Harriett Livingston became the bride of Mr. John Henry Hydrick of Orangeburg, S. C.
The home of the bride was beautifully decorated for the occasion with quantities of trailing vines and flowers. The music room was lovely with white roses, and in the drawing room, where the ceremony took place, quantities of stately Easter lilies made an appropriate background for the bridal party.
In the front hall punch was served as the guests arrived by Miss Lillian Livingston, sister of the bride.
To the strains of the ever beautiful! and appropriate Mendelssohn wedding march, which was played by Miss Ruth Rentz, accompanied on the violin by Mr. Laurie Izlar, the bride and groom, preceded by the maid of honor, Miss Lois Livingston, descended the stairs and took their places under the gothic arch, which had been erected for the occasion, and which was covered with bamboo vine and Easter lilies. From the center of the arch hung a large white wedding bell made of Easter lilies. Here the bridal party consisting of the bride and groom, the maid of honor, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Livingston and little Misses Peggy and Lillian Livingston, sisters of the bride, stood while the impressive words were spoken by Rev. John R. Herndon which made them man and wife.
The bride was married in a traveling suit of sand colored tricotine, a plaited and belted model, elaborately trimmed with braid and buttons. Her hat was an attractive and becoming tricorne shape of satin and braid with veil, gloves and accessories to match, and her flowers were a corsage bouquet of pink Ophelia roses. Besides a beautiful diamond cluster ring, set in platinum, the gift of the groom, she wore a pendant and brooch of pearls, which belonged to her grandmother and had been worn by her mother and her aunt at their weddings. Mrs. Hydrick is an unusually lovely girl and she never looked more beautiful than as a bride.
The maid of honor, Miss Lois Livingston, a sister of the bride, looked very dainty and attractive in old rose organdie with a large black picture hat. She carried a bouquet of Easter lilies. Mrs. Livingston, mother of the bride, was gowned in violet and carried sweet peas to match.
Immediately after the ceremony the bridal couple were showered with congratulations and best wishes for their future happiness, after which the guests proceeded to the dining room, where a buffet luncheon was served.
Mr. and Mrs. Hydrick left this afternoon over the Seaboard limited for Jacksonville, thence to Columbia, S. C., which place they will reach tomorrow morning and where at the home of Mrs. H. S. Laval, sister of the bridegroom, their wedding breakfast will be served, after which they will take a short motor trip in their car before going to Orangeburg, where they will make their future home and where they will go to housekeeping in an apartment which has been prepared for them.
The groom comes from Orangeburg, S. C. where he is a well established and prominent lawyer.
The bride is the second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Livingston, and the many beautiful gifts of which she was the recipient shows the love and esteem in wihich she was held by her many friends.

Attended Vassar College in New York. Graduated with a B. A. degree in Elementary Education from the University of Arizona in 1966, married George Polka (14 Apr 1932), in March 1969. They have no children (NOTE: as of 1975)
As of 1975, Cora was a basic education instructor for Department of Labor Job Corps Manpower Center in Phoeniz, AZ.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dr. Cora wrote Bartina Faye Wilson Peoples on 10/5/2002 and gave her some corrections. I originally had her married to a George Polka (??) which is not true. She and her husband decided, before marrying, that she would retain her maiden name and that any children would also have the Hydrick name
This last paragraph taken from source: "The Descendants of Major Jacob Haysmith Hydrick 1819-1903"; Hydrick, Onan Augustus, pp.122-123. Per the note above it, purportedly from Cora herself to Bartina Wilson Peoples, Onan must have received bad information when writing this portion about her marriage to George Polka.
In February 1995, Jack D. Hydrick and son Patrick visited Cherry Valley and went to Mosner Cemetery (called Hydrick Cemetery in obituary). G. W. Hydrick is buried next to his father James Hydrick. James' Confederate States of America marker has been stolen.
was 59 at her death of breast cancer
PAMELA ANNE HYDRICK Mrs. Pamela Anne Hydrick, 59, of Cumming, Georgia, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 16, 2004. God gifted Pam with a beautiful voice that she used to worship Him and bless all those around her. Pam's sweet spirit, servant heart and giving of unconditional love were a wonderful picture of Christlikeness.
She was born the daughter of Jim and Mary Wisehart on May 12, 1945, in Indiana. She was raised in College Park, Georgia; along with her three much loved siblings: Jim, Steve, and Karen Wisehart. She met her faithful husband of thirty-eight years, Dr. John T. Hydrick, in College Park. After attending the University of Georgia, she married John and they settled down in Cumming, Georgia, where they have lived for the past twenty-six years. Pam was a homemaker and loving mother of five children: David, Byran, Deborah, Jonathan, and Catherine.
Pam's strength and resolve as she faced the recurrence of breast cancer has encouraged so many and given a priceless example of how God's peace and contentment can infuse a willing vessel and transcend any human comprehension. Pam had a tremendous faith and centainty of Who was in control of her life. She was a true picture of faith and eternal security. She had a joy from the Lord that never ceased. Her beautiful bright blue eyes always shined with love and compassion. Pam's life was truly an example of the Proverbs thirty-one woman, which she demonstrated to her husband, children, six grandchildren: Hawken, Jude, Caleb, Susie, Josie, Lilly, daughter-in-law: Stacey, and son-in-law: Clay, as well as her family and friends. Pam's life was a fragrant aroma, an act of worship, an acceptable sacrifice, well-pleasing to God.
Opinion's on prospects.
This is a section devoted to comments on players looking at UA. SO if you have a comment on some player or anything about recruiting send it to me and I will put it on here.
Just to let you know of an OL (center) from Copiah-Lincoln CC being looked at by Ole Miss and MSU -- Joey Hydrick, 6'2", 275# with 5.2 speed but with incredible quickness and strength. He gets off the ball and is in the defensive backfield as quickly as the quarterback on sneaks. He wasn't recruited out of HS heavily because he lettered in four sports all four years and played every down on football -- he even punted and handled the placekicking. Now that he is a one-way player and committed to one sport to make or break, his potential is starting to be realized. He just might be worth a look at-- as Gene Swindoll said on his Ole Miss All Sports Recruiting page ... "this kid's been a secret until now, but look for more teams to get into the hunt..." Denny
07/31/98 - As promised, here is the list of Miss State walk-ons. As you read this list, remember, no program can be successful without walk-ons. They contribute in ways very few of us will ever see. These guys are a big part of the heart and soul of a team.
Ben Ashley - Long snapper. Returning walk-on. Dorian Black - Wide Receiver. Returning walk-on. Jerry Bolton - Linebacker. Incoming freshman. Has a good chance to contribute early. Anthony Bryant - Defensive Back. Returning walk-on. Prentiss Cole - Kicker. Returning walk-on. Billy Cook - Offensive Lineman. 6-2.5, 260. Returning walk-on. Neal Couvillion - Kicker. Walk-on freshman from Starkville, Miss. David Crowley - Wide Receiver. Winston Academy. Walk-on freshman. Steele Davis - Defensive End. 6-0, 205. Returning walk-on. Robby Gargis - Punter/Place Kicker. Transfer from University of Memphis. Will have to sit out a year. Ti' Garner - Defensive Back. Returing walk-on. Will contribute on special teams this year. Mario Hall - Running Back. Freshman walk-on. Very fast. Has a chance to contribute this year. Joey Hydrick - Center. Has an excellent chance to contribute this year. Chris Jones - Quarterback. Transfer from Northeast MS CC. Played high school ball at Amory, Miss. Will be a sophomore. Jason McNeil - Offensive Lineman. 6-4, 265. Parents are MSU grads. From Madison, AL. Ryan Morueaux - Linebacker. 5-11, 220. Returning walk-on. Josh Morgan - Defensive Back. Younger brother of MSU quarterback Rob Morgan. Freshman walk-on. Emmitt Smith - Defensive Back. 5-11, 180. Junior college walk-on. Has a very good chance to contribute this coming season. Shaon Taylor - Fullback. Returning walk-on. Good size. Impressive during spring until he was hurt. Glen Thompson - Linebacker/Strong Safety. 6-0, 210, 4.5. Freshman walk-on from Midfield, Ala. Could contribute as a freshman. Scott Westerfield - Kicker. Junior walk-on from Hinds CC. Juco All-American kicker.
10/14/97 - Co-Lin CC's outstanding center Joey Hydrick is being recruited by Ole Miss (leader, more playing time the first year), Miss State (feels they may want to redshirt him) and now Wake Forest. He will be taking an official visit to Wake Forest. From what I was told, Wake Forest is going to offer him.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
At my home in PA, I received a call from a Villanova Univ. football coach showing interest in Joey. Also, received a call from Mississippi State University Head Baeeball Coach, Ron Polk, inquiring as to Joey's plans. I told him Joey had already signed a football scholarship with Copiah-Lincoln CC. Coach Polk asked if he'd play baseball there also which I wasn't sure of. He said if he did, they'd keep an eye on him.
General Notes: Wife - Josie Manley
Josie was an outstanding student-athlete on the Millsaps College (Jackson, MS) softball team.

The State of SC_To the Honorable the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
The memorial of the undersigned citizens of Lexington and Orangeburg District do willfully._Sheweth, that at the last session of the Legislature, an application was made by the SC Canal and Rail-Road Company, to allow them to increase the rate of passengers and transportation on the said road, from 5 cents per mile to 7 cent per mile on passengers, and from thirty four cents for every one hundred miles to fifty cents per hundred or, Muchaualg Near de- mau ding an increase of fifty per cent on the rates allowance by the charter of incorporation - which application was granted.
Your memorialists further shew that unto your Honorable Body, that hey Hold(sp?) the application in truly gratuiton and unwapany (sp?) --- not only prejudicial so the best interests of the Company, but a breach of faith with the people thumells (sp?), who have made a living just of shwent of land, and affording other facilities in the commencement, and during the people of the in tumfion (sp?) -which application, for these and others was ours which your memorialists are furfraud t tubmilk, ought not in the opinions to have been granted.
That the application to maicase the rates of passengers on the Rail-Road in un company , your
memorialists are convinced from the fact , that 5 cents per mile for passengers is a high a rate to be collected on any Rail-Road in the United States or else where, as they are informed, and they can divulge no way on why stockholders in Rail Road Company in SC should not be satisfied with such rates are one allowed, and such profits are one made upon
Rail-Road in other parts of the country.
That the increase in the rates in prejudicial to the best of the company, your Memorialists do not doubt , on the increase of passengers Money have already destroyed in a grant many use upon the line of Road public confidence in the Company not the success of the application, will embolder them to further exaction until the passengers on the Road will amount to many or entire prohibition. From the inducement held out by the Company, all traveling, and all in a great massive been abandoned by your Memorialists, and if the present rates are continued , they must return at an increased expense to the old modes or travel and transportation of their to produce to market. Your
Memorialists also believe that the Company_By thus increasing the rate of passengers will drive many from some traveling from the west, from their own Road is the own dulu (sp?) commenced traveling from the city of Savannah to the Alabama line.
When the South Carolina Canal and Rail Road Company was incorporated, many firmly(sp?) men granted to
them by you Honorable Body, and the inhabitants of the country through which the Road was to pray(sp?), made rebring requishments (sp?) of their lands and mispaud (sp?) to submit to all the inconveniences, which a geat thoroghfare like the Rail Road , in the vicinity would occasion with the expectation which was held out to them, that the convenience of the Road Chiapung(sp?) of traveling of would fully counter balance nay exclude and infury(sp?). They would incur from its passengers. But in that uaron able hope they have been dir affinated (sp?) and the present rates will put it out of power of a great many of them to ride the road or a general means of traveling. They came(sp?) by the old road of travel from portation(sp?), which made their markets much cheaper than by the Rail-Road at the rate the Company has been allowed to impose.
Your Memorialists that ? from may your Honorable Body to repeal the law of last Session, allowing the SC Canal & Rail Road Company to increase the rates of passengers of transportation, and compel them to raise due (sp?) the same to the rate allowed by their Charter of Incorporation.

"Denny,
Marie's maiden name is Marie Louise Chisolm, DOB 8/8/1947.in Newport News VA to Loyd and Estelle Chisolm.
And yes I became in touch with the Borgio's on my 16th birthday, when a lawyer officiated the Hydrick adoption. By law ( I guess ) I had to give my permission. Well of course I did because i didn't know any parents other than Lawrence and Patty.
My birth father William Borgio passed away in the late 90's but I had been to Richmond VA a couple of times to visit him and his 2nd wife with my older brother Bill Borgio who lives in CA. I really didn't like my old man William very much and was damn glad I was nothing like him. I also have an older sister Linda Borgio in MINN and a half sister Gianetta Borgio in Richmond.
My birth mother Jane is also in MINN but we don't keep in touch.
Even though I'm adopted I have always considered myself a HYDRICK....thats the family who raised me and who I know best.
My desire for privacy only pertains to Social Media sites. Feel free to add any and all info about me to your database.
A bunch of us old DJ's put together a website for a great station we worked at, WROV in Roanoke VA at www.wrovhistory.com you will enjoy.

This aircheck is around 1975 I think when drugs were the brunt of most DJ jokes. Your closing line about "waiting for the white stuff" would have been a classic for me on a snowy Roanoke night, followed by a long loud "SSNNOOOOORRRRTTTTTT"!!br>
We'll prob get hit Monday here in Hampton. It is what it is.
And now you know.......the REST of the story!

"Subject: Alien Bigfoot filming Friday Night on Destination America
I hope you all enjoyed the Devil Monkey episode last Friday night. For all the time they spent shooting at our home, M2Pictures only used about 5 seconds of the side of our house with the Devil Monkey going thru the trash cans. But they also shot the Alien Bigfoot episode that night too.
This Friday night should have a lot more of our home, inside and out.
The Alien Bigfoot (see attached blurry photo taken on night of the shoot) was shot outside and in our living room with a woman watching tv. She hears a noise, grabs a rifle, see's the creature and shoots at it from our front porch. If we're lucky you may see some photos of my family on top of the tv stand or the wall in the living room, or the number 29 next to our garage door and over our front door.
Monsters and Mysteries In America will air this Friday night at 10 Eastern with the episode titled "Bigfoot from Outer Space".
Steve"
~~~
Denny,
Forgot to mention that the house from the 1950's part of the story with the antique car in the driveway was my neighbors house across the street. M2Pictures uses both of our homes. He has had murders, aliens and bodies buried of slabs of concrete in his garage and back yard in various shows they produce. I have a link somewhere for the previous film shoots here. If I can find it I'll send it to you.
Heather Lynn Hydrick, 36, of Arlington Tx closed her eyes to rest on Monday, October 5, 2020.
Service: 11:00 am Friday, October 9, 2020 at Feragne Villa, 755 Mid Cities Blvd., Hurst, 76054 family will welcome guests at 10:30 am prior to service.
Heather was a beautiful, amazing person. Her silliness and smile were contagious. If Heather was around, you knew there would be fun and laughter. She had a free spirit and always tried to see the good in people. To say that we are devastated is an understatement. There will not be a day that we don't think of her and miss her, until we are also called home. Get some rest now sweet sister. We are not saying goodbye, we are saying see you later for now.
She leaves behind three of the most amazingly, beautiful little girls; Aunica (14), Ariyana (2), and Aniya (1), nieces and nephews that loved her so much; Marcus, Jacob, Allison, Angelica, Alyssa, Joseph, Anthony, Emma, Logan, Jessica, Jackie, and several other little nieces. She is also survived by eight and a half siblings and their partners; Zenon (Angel), Devin (Joe), Benjamin (Ashleigh), Phanessa, Bubba (Lisa), Brianne (Alex), Steven, Jesse, and Krystal (Steven) who is actually a cousin but more like a sister. Let's not forget Mike Jones (who?). Honorary mention to Brandy who grew up close to Heather and the family, as well as Krystal, Cynthia, and Big Red who were the soul sisters of her life. Also left behind is Shirley Murrah (Grandma), Bruce (StepDad), Ray (special father figure), and lastly, her mother Dawn Samo who was her savior. Heather loved her mother down to the deepest part of her soul and knows that she would move the stars for her.
Heather is proceeded in death by her father Leman "Bud" Hydrick; her Godmother Sandra King; Aunt Pamela Murrah; and Uncle James Murrah.
