R. B. TYNER DEAD
ONE OF THE OLDEST AND BEST KNOWN CITIZENS IN THIS PART OF THE STATE PASSES AWAY
R. B. TYNER DIES.

R. B. "Rube" Tyner, died at his home six miles northeast of here at 5:45 o'clock Saturday morning, January 13, 1917. His death was caused by uremic poisoning. Two years ago Mr. Tyner was operated upon at a hospital in Kansas City and, although give relief at the time, he recently suffered from a recurring attack of the old malady which hastened his death.

Uncle Rube" Tyner, as he was best known, was one of the old time residents of the county. Most of the 71 years of his life were passed in this section and in this county.

For many years Mr. Tyner lived on what is now the Tyner homestead, one of the finest ranches in the county. In the early days he made a specialty of raising cattle but of late years he gave up the cattle business and gave his attention to farming. Six years ago he was elected a member of the board of county commissioners and was re-elected two years later. He served on the board with the late Al Ward and Sidney Brown.

With the passing away of Mr. Tyner another name has been added to the list of "old timers" who are sleeping the last sleep. Mr. Tyner was a kindly father, good neighbor, an honorable man in all his dealings and it is doubtful if there is another man in the county who has a greater number of friends than "Uncle Reub (sic) " Tyner.

He was born November 30, 1846, near Tahlequah, Oklahoma. He is survived by a wife, two sons and five daughters. The funeral services were conducted by the Masonic Lodge of Ramona of which he had been a member for many years. Rev. J. A. Griffitts preached the funeral sermon.

Kathleen Rolland Snelgrove, Dec. 8, 1924-Dec. 20, 2017

The Lord brought his true and faithful servant, Kathleen, to his bosom on December 20. She had just turned ninety-three. Her husband David (Chuck) Snelgrove died in 1985. She was the last of her generation. Her five brothers, Robert, Cecil, Gerald, Harold, and Roger all preceded her in death as did all her cousins. She and her brothers were raised on a farm in Vanndale, Arkansas.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews, her children, David and Mary his wife, Virgie and her husband Richard Shank, Shirley and her husband Dennis Owen, six grandchildren, Trisha West, Susan Nickelberry, Laura Sobieck, Carla Brown, Scott Owen, and Tracey Boles, and sixteen great-grandchildren.

Petty Officer David Snelgrove was taking a train home on leave in August of 1944. Kathleen was on her way to visit her family. They met. She missed her stop and they were married on the ninth of September in Oklahoma City. Later, when she introduced Chuck to her father as his son-in-law he said "Well, I've been needing one of those." She worked in the defense effort until the end of the war when they settled in Oklahoma City. Kathleen joined Kentucky Avenue Baptist Church and except for three years the family spent in California served there for the rest of her life. She worked at Oklahoma Tire and Supply in Capitol Hill, in the cafeteria at Grant High School, and at Western Electric where she retired in the early 1980s.

She enjoyed working with young people as a Sunday school teacher and as sponsor/cook for the annual Falls Creek Assembly. She was the kindest and most gentle person you could ever meet.

Vondel L. Smith & Son Mortuary 6934 S. Western Oklahoma City, OK 73139. Visitation Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2017 from 9 A.M. to 1 P.M. Services will follow at 2 P. M. in the Colonial Chapel of Vondel L. Smith Mortuary

Philip "Bud" Sadler. My uncle, long and lean, with shaggy blonde hair that sometimes fell into his face and an immense fondness for Bruce Springsteen. He went into typewriter repair in the late 1970s, and the times sadly got away from him; but I remember his wide smile and easy laugh, and his delight at corny comedies or when the Chiefs made a great play.

Harrison was born to Betty and Graham Sadler on March 27, 1962, in Lebanon, MO. He grew up in Missouri, Colorado, Kansas, and Virginia, where he graduated from Henrico High School in 1980. He married Linda Small in 1995.

In Denver, Harrison worked for Qwest for a number of years, then studied at Metro State University. Harrison was a gentle spirit who loved music and found his connection to Native American roots as an adult. His favorite community activity was Pow-wow, and his real passion was instrumental music. He played string bass and bass guitar until rheumatoid arthritis stole the use of his hands.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
"GEORGE M. SCHAEFFER, of North Manheim township, is a progressive farmer and business man of his section of Schuylkill county, where the family has been settled for many years. His grandfather, Jacob Schaeffer, lived in Friedensburg, Wayne township, and later made his home with his son William, at Pinedale, where he died. His children were: Joseph, William, Sarah, Matilda, Mary and Elizabeth."
"George M. Schaeffer was born Jan. 29, 1862, in West Brunswick township, where he grew to manhood, receiving his education in the public schools. He was thoroughly trained to farm work, which he has followed all his life, and has owned his present farm since 1902, purchasing it from Air. Anderson. In 1906 he erected the fine barn on his property, and has a number of other good buildings, being constantly engaged in the improvement of the place, which has increased greatly in value during his ownership. This was formerly an old hotel stand, at one time owned and conducted by Solomon Moyer, and later for many years by Joseph Heffner. The hotel was then discontinued, and Mr. Anderson purchased the property, owning it until he sold it to Mr. Schaeffer. He is engaged in general farming and for ten years also had a milk route in Orwigsburg, but gave this up in April, 1914. Mr. Schaeffer attends the Orwigsburg markets twice a week, and he keeps up with the times in supplying the demand of the local trade as well as in his methods of operating his farm and caring for his property. Its appearance testifies amply to his progressive ideas and energetic policy.
Mr. Schaeffer is recognized by his fellow citizens as a substantial member of the community, and they have shown their faith in his honesty and enterprise by retaining him in public office for an unusually long period, his service on the school board of West Brunswick township covering eighteen years. Part of this time he has been president of the board. In religion he is a Lutheran, holds membership in the historic old Red Church in West Brunswick township, and socially he belongs to the Independent Americans. Mr. Schaeffer married Mary Schweigert, daughter of George Schweigert, of South Manheim township, and they have two children: William D.. of Orwigsburg, who married Annie Wildermuth; and Paul Joseph, who lives at home and attends school."
