General Notes: Husband - Rev William Baldrige
From, "History of Adams County",
The Reverend William Baldridge was born in Lancaster County, Penn., February 26, 1761. His parents were from Ireland and members of the Irish Covenanter Church. The year after his birth they removed to the banks of the Catawba River in Lincoln County, N. C., where he resided until 1776, when he joined a cavalry company and served as a soldier during the Revolutionary War. Of this period of his life, the most interesting of all, we have no record, but front the course of his after 1ive, we know that he did his duty as a soldier, conscientiously, and faithfully. He did not consider that in his seven years' service to his country, he had done more than his duty or that he deserved any special commendation therefor. After returning from the war, he prepared for college under and the instructions of Rev. Robert Finley, and attended Dickinson College in Carlisle, Penn., where he graduated in 1790 at the head of a class of twelve. Immediately after his graduation, he took up the study of theology, privately, with the Rev. Alexander Dobbins and studied under him one year. The second year of his theological studies he pursued under the Reverend Doctor Nesbit, of Carlisle, Pa. He was licensed to preach by the Presbytery of Pennsylvania, Associate Reformed, in 1792. and fined ordained by the same Presbytery in 1793. On July 17, 1792, he was married to Rebecca Agnew. She was born December 12, 1772.
On October 18, 1793, he accepted a call to two churches in Rockbridge County, Virginia. One of them was a mile from the Natural Bridge. It has long since disappeared, the building destroyed and the congregation dissolved. His other church was Ebenezer, about five miles northeast of Lexington. He labored as regular pastor of these two churches, both Associate Reformed, until 1803 when his pastoral relation them was dissolved, but what was an anomaly in Presbyterian practice, he remained their stated supply until 1809, when he removed to Adams County, Ohio, to accept a call as pastor to the Cherry Fork and West Fork congregations. In 1797, he was moderator of his synod and delivered an important judicial decision in a case before that body. During his residence in Virginia, he was twice offered the presidency of Washington College, now Washington and Lee University, but declined each time on the ground that it was his duty, as he saw it, to remain in the pastoral work. From 1803 to 1809, many of his congregation had emigrated from Virginia and located in Adams County, Ohio, at either Cherry Fork or West Fork. These former parishoners of his secured his call to the two churches of the two localities. During his residence in Virginia, he been a faithful and acceptable pastor and had been endeared himself to his people, and while there, the following children were born to him and his devoted wife: James R., May 22, 1793; Alexander H., January 13, 1795; John Y., December 20, 1796; William S., May 1, 1799; Samuel C. and Rebecca G., twins, February 18, 1801; David A., May 25, 1803; Wade, August 25, 1805; Agnew, December 5, 1807. With these eight boys and one girl and his wife, he made the journey overland to Ohio, in June, 1809, and locating at Cherry Fork at the age of 40. He spent the remainder of his life there. The following children were born to him and his wife Rebecca, in Ohio: Joseph G., June 16, 1810; Ebenezer W., August 1, 1812; , William, August 17, 1814; Mary Jane, October 26, 1817, at whose birth the mother died. This daughter, Mrs. Mary Jane Waller, a widow, is now living with her daughter, Mrs. Julia Tappan, at Avondale, Ohio, the last survivor of her brothers and sisters.
On May 16, 1820, Rev. William Baldridge married Mrs. Mary Logan Anderson, a widow, and by her became the father of two children, Benjamin L., born February 9, 1821, and Nancy M. October 18, 1822. His daughter, Rebecca, married Joseph Riggs, December 8, 1819, a very prominent citizen of southern Ohio, and by him became the mother of a numerous family of sons and daughters, the former of whom and their descendants have distinguished themselves in financial circles, in the ministry, at the bar and on the bench. Of the Reverend Baldridge's sons, Samuel C. and Benjamin L. became ministers and Alexander H., Agnew and Ebenezer W. became physicians. Of the literary works of the Rev. Baldrdge, we have but three sermons which were published in the Associate Reformed Pulpit. These indicate that he was a fine sermonizer. But he especially excelled in pastoral work. He knew all the members of his congregation, and all their children by name, and knew their peculiarities. He made his pastoral visits regularly in each family and gave religious instructions in such manner as to make it attractive, and to fasten it to remain in the minds of those he visited. The Rev. Marion Morrison, now residing at Mission Creek, Nebraska, relates an incident one of his visits to his father's, Judge Morrison's house, in which he heard a conversation between an older brother and the Rev. Baldridge, in which the latter sought to induce his brother to take a college education with a view of entering the ministry. This conversation so impressed young Morrison, then eight years of age, that he, in consequence thereof, took a college education and entered the ministry where he has labored successfully all his life. The Rev. Baldridge died in the midst of his labors on October 26, 1830.
Sixty-nine years having elapsed since his death, oblivion has claimed much that we would like to know of him, but the fact that he held but two pastorates in his lifetime; that he resigned the first and that death alone removed him from the other, speaks well of him as a minister Sixteen years in the same churches in Rockbridge County, Virginia and twenty-one in Adams County, Ohio, covered his ministerial work. He preached well in the pulpit and cared well and effectually for his people in their homes. The fact that Cherry Fork church grew an prospered during and after his labors in it speaks well for his work. The fact that for years past and that today the church at Cherry Fork is large and prosperous; that its influence is well recognized in the county in its Presbytery and Synod; that it has sent out so many grand men and women to other parts of the country, is largely due. to the labors of the Rev. William Baldridge between 1809 and 1830. He took the church four years after its organization and builded it for twenty-one years.
But while he was an efficient pastor, teacher and guide in churches the for thirty-seven years, he did something even greater than that. He reared a family of twelve sons and two daughters to be godly women, to be goodly man and citizens and to take honorable and, prominent place in the world's work. Moreover, he laid the foundations of character in his sons and daughters, so deep, so wide, so strong in piety and moral truth that after seventy years, his descendants are men and women of the same stamp of moral worth, high character and sterling piety that he bore himself. Could he have done better as a life work than herein related? We think not. He performed his work so well and so thoroughly that it will last so long as descendants of his survive to illustrate and exemplify it. He sleeps in an unknown and unmarked grave in the Cherry Fork Cemetery.
General Notes: Wife - Rebecca Agnew
In searching among the old records, both church and civil, the following notes on the Agnew family has been unearthed:. ".... 2. Rev. Alexander Dobbin's Records - "Married, July 17, 1792, Willlam Baldridge to Rebecca Agnew, both of Hamilton's Bann, York (now Adams) County." Note Rebecca Agnew, the daughter of James (2) Agnew and his wife, Mary (Ramsey) Agnew, who was married to the Rev. James Baldridge, a Presbyterian minister. Rebecca (Agnew) Baldridge died in 1817 in Adams County, Ohio."

Hydrick, Billy Gene "Bill," 86, retired American Airlines nondestructive testing inspector, died Monday. Visitation 5-7 p.m. Thursday and service 10 a.m. Friday, both at Mobley-Dodson Funeral Service, Sand Springs. (Tulsa World)
-------------------
Billy Gene "Bill" Hydrick died Monday, August 6, 2012, in Tulsa, after a brief illness. Bill was born on March 4, 1926, on Ruth Street, in Sikeston, Mo, to Graham and Monra Hydrick.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Edith Norene Hydrick, who he had called "Freckles" since they were in 3rd grade. He is also survived by his son David Alan and wife Mary Hydrick, daughter Kathleen Shroff, grandchildren Amy and husband Mark Davis, Carrie and husband Wade Jones, Michael Shroff, Matthew Shroff, Katie and husband Chris Ginder, and Luke Hydrick; great-grandchildren, Hannah Grace Davis and Edie Lee Jones; many nieces and nephews, and countless dear friends.
His family moved to Bucoda, Mo when he was 6 years old when his father took a job to build three cotton gins in the area. He attended Bucoda Elementary School where in the 3rd grade he met a freckle faced, tow headed little girl named Norene. By 8th grade, he had decided that she was the only one for him. They were married 2 weeks after their high school graduation on June 16, 1944. Two days before his death, he stated that Freckles was the love of his life, and she was the only woman in his life "to this very day". Each month, on the 16th, he purchased a single long stemmed red rose for her.
As a junior at Senath, MO High School, he joined the Army Air Corp cadets so that he could finish high school before being drafted at age 18. He wanted to enter the Army Air Corp as an officer and a gentleman and receive pilots training. After passing a rigorous exam, he and three classmates were accepted. During high school, he played basketball and was a pole vaulter. He won 3rd in state in pole vaulting in his junior year. On August 02, 1944 Bill reported for duty as an aviation cadet trainee, at Biloxi, Miss. The war ended after a few short months, so he did not receive his pilots training. He obtained his pilot's license after his discharge on November 16, 1945. He and Edith Norene returned to Missouri and he worked on her father's farm, then they moved to Memphis so that he could attend Shelby County School of Aeronautics at Whitehaven, TN. He graduated with his mechanics license. Shortly after graduation, they moved to Tulsa where went to work at American Airlines.
He told his family that he had wanted to fly from as far back as he could remember. He loved everything about the history of aviation. Although his work was with large planes, his real love was for small planes, especially bi-planes. He helped friends build planes and often flew them until arthritis grounded them. He loved aerobatical flying. He was talking about flying in his last days. Now he is soaring in the heavens.
Bill and Edith visited Hawaii annually for many years. They loved the ocean, the beach, the mountains and the valleys. As an avid photographer, he was in his element. He has a vast collection of beautiful landscapes. He loved archery and won several competitions over the years. Photography had been another passion since childhood. He won many awards for his photography throughout out his life. He also loved to draw. In his later years, he took up the art of leatherwork. He made beautiful belts, custom holsters, wallets and photo albums. He also created pictures by "carving by hand". He won, first place at the Tulsa State Fair, in 2010, for his work.
He often told his family that he did not have material wealth, but he felt like a millionaire because of his family. He dearly loved and was devoted to his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He told his family many times that he was so proud of their accomplishments, of making it through struggles to become wonderful individuals. In return, he was dearly loved and cherished.
Funeral Service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 10, 2012 at the Mobley-Dodson Chapel

Gideon Evans (1783-1873), my great-grandfather's older brother, died of pneumonia after "in true Evans spirit, at the age of 90, undeterred by a rare accumulation of snow, he rode his horse up to visit daughter Cynthia Plunkett (about 15 miles)." He had been a Captain in the Civil War, a Justice of Peace, Justice of the Quorum, and member of the SC State House of Representatives.
His land holdings along the South Edisto River exceeded 20,000 acres. (R. Maxcy Foxworth, Jr.; Rt 2, Box 685; Marion, SC 29571)

below from : http://www.intersurf.com/~bevans/My%20Ancestors/d539.htm
1841: Gideon acquired 1575 more acres on Cedar Creek.
1848: Elected to House of Representatives, State of SC; served until 1849.
1849: He acquired 5751 acres on Shaw's Creek, which is branches off the Edisto River. Apparently a dispute about this land developed later. An original document in the Orangeburg Historical Office (in 1995) is recorded ad "Weeks & Evans dispute land on Edisto, White Pond Rd, & on Shaw Creek adj Mc ? Williams Land (undated)." (But 6/83 is written on bottom; see copy in E32 File)
1850: The census of Barnwell District taken 24 September lists Gideon Evans, aged 65, with Real Estate valued at 8000 on Saluda. Also: Mary, aged 58, Cynthia, 30; Martha aged 20. Living with them were both mothers: Phoebe Evans, aged 85, and Lucretia Weeks, aged 82. All born in SC. (Note: these ages of daughters are inconsistent with other family information).
1859: Gideon acquired 890 more acres of land on Shaw's Creek.
1864: Gideon sold 881 acres on the Edisto River and Willow Swamp to his son Andrew Jackson Evans, for $8,000; originally purchased from Elisha Tyler. 1867: Orangeburg County Deeds 1865-1902 include: Gideon Evans to A.J. Evans. 1873: On January 10, Gideon moved his church letter to Tabernacle Baptist Church.
1873: On March 10 he purchased 200 acres of land on the East Side of Willow Swamp (bordered by Samuel Dibble, James W. Reed, P.W. Garrick, and Catherine Rowell) from A. J. Evans for $2,000. (This A.J. may be his son, Andrew Jackson Evans, born in 1818.) The original of this deed was found in the Orangeburg Historical Office and copied by Bruce Evans in March, 1995. Copy is in E32 file.
Gideon Evans died later that year on December 31. "Capt. Gideon Evans: planter and timberman with land holdings along the South Edisto River exceeding 20,000 acres; shipped lumber, and rafted logs down the river, to Charleston; home and all provisions and lumber stock destroyed by Sherman's army (site now Aiken County State Park; Justice of Peace; Justice of the Quorum; SC State House of Representatives. In true Evans spirit, at the age of 90, undeterred by a rare accumulation of snow, he rode his horse up to visit daughter Cynthia Plunkett (about 15 miles). He developed pheumonia and died, and was buried in the Plunkett family graveyard on a bluff at Merritt's Bridge on the South Edisto River, but the grave was never permanently marked." R. Maxcy Foxworth, Jr. (Rt 2, Box 685; Marion, SC 29571)
1895: Orangeburg County Deeds, 1865-1902 lists: Gideon P. Etal to Wm. W. Evans. (This is Gideon's second child? probably born in 1810)

Draft card lists his birthplace as Dubbs (Community) in Tunica Co but SS record lists Strawhorn (I suspect it should be Strayhorn which is in Tate Co). Either way, he was born in the country

In 1910 census, Frank and Virgie were living two houses away from William Calvin Dennis. Their first child, Lester, was born 12 days after the census was taken.
They were also next door (how far?) neighbors of Andrew G. Kyle, his wife Oceola and infant daughter Minnie but I don't know if they were related (one would think so??) or not

Lynch History Hopsewee Plantation was originally part of the lands owned by Thomas Lynch, I (deceased 1738). He owned most of the property on the North Santee from Hopsewee to the intercoastal waterway, with seven plantations in production. Hopsewee was built by the Lynch family between 1733 and 1740. This beautiful site was chosen of all the Lynch property for the family home of Thomas Lynch, Sr. (1726-1776) Hopsewee overlooks the beautiful Santee River and the rice ?elds which were its source of income until the Civil War. Lynch was married to Elizabeth Allston, of Brookgreen Plantation, another prominent Georgetown family, and they had two daughters Sabina (b. 1747) and Esther (b. 1748) and one son, Thomas Lynch, Jr. (b. 1749)
After Elizabeth Allston died (c. 1755), Mr. Lynch married. Hannah Motte, and they had a daughter, Elizabeth (b. 1755). The Senior Lynch was a distinguished public servant and one of the most important Santee River planters. As a prominent Indigo planter, he was the ?rst President of the Winyah Indigo Society founded in 1755. In 1751 he was the delegate elected to the Commons House of Assembly from Prince George, Winyah Parish where he served with the exception of one term until his death. He served on the 1765 Stamp Act Congress and in 1774 was elected to the First Continental Congress in Philadelphia. Lynch was highly esteemed by the founding fathers and in October, 1775, Lynch was appointed with Benjamin Franklin, and Colonel Benjamin Harrison as advisors to General Washington. However, in February 1776 he was paralyzed when he suffered a cerebral hemorrhage while in Philadelphia. His son, Thomas Lynch, Jr, was serving in the South Carolina militia and requested leave of his commanding of?cer, Christopher Gadsden, to join his ailing father. The request was denied but the South Carolina Second Provincial Congress selected the son as a delegate to join his father in Philadelphia. Thus Thomas Lynch Sr. and Thomas Lynch Jr. were the only father and son team to serve the Continental Congress. Thomas Lynch Jr. was the ?fty-second signer of the Declaration of Independence at 26 years of age and thus gave his birthplace, Hopsewee Plantation, a place in American History.
The elder Lynch remained a member of the South Carolina delegation but was physically unable to sign the Declaration of Independence in the space left between the names of Edward Rutledge and Thomas Heyward, Jr. In December, 1776, while returning to South Carolina, the senior Lynch died and is buried in Annapolis, Maryland.
Thomas Lynch, Jr. returned to South Carolina and retired from public life due to a malingering fever contracted during his service with the South Carolina militia in 1775. He and his wife, Elizabeth Shubrick, resided at Peachtree Plantation on the South Santee River. In 1779 he and his wife left for France by way of the West Indies to improve his health. Their ship was lost at sea with all passengers. He and his wife had no children.

U.S. Continental Congressman. As a planter, he was very successful in the management of extensive rice plantations, on the Santee River. Entering politics, he served as a member of the South Carolina House of Assembly, (1751-57, 61-63, 65, 68, 72). He also was a member of the First and Second Continental Congresses, (1774-76) and a member of the first South Carolina State General Assembly in 1776. He was unable to sign the Declaration of Independence because of illness (his son signed it) and while en route to his home, died from a stroke. U.S. Congressman Thomas Lynch Jr. was his son.

Death Notes: Wife - Elizabeth Allston
FamilySearch shows her death place as Craven Co. In those days, there were many changes taking place as England still ruled. From WIkipedia, we get this history of the area:
Craven County, South Carolina was one of the three original counties established by the Lords Proprietor of the English colony of Carolana in 1682 to include the colony's lands stretching from Awendaw Creek north to the western shore of Winyah Bay and inland.[1][2] In 1685, the original county of Berkeley was expanded to include the southwestern part of Craven County, and in 1691, land was added to Craven County from the previously unorganized land to its northeast.[1]
In 1706, the Lords Proprietor established the Church of England Parish system in South Carolina, reducing counties to geographic designations with no administrative functions; the southwestern half of Craven County was organized into St. James Santee Parish,[1][3] and in 1721, Prince George Parish was organized for the former northeastern half of Craven County, extending into the unorganized territory to the north and east of the county.[1]
In 1734 Prince Frederick Parish was organized from northwestern Prince George Parish, extending into the unorganized territory to the northwest of the county. In 1735 their common boundary was redefined and Prince George Parish reduced in extent when the border with the Province of North Carolina was established.
In 1769, judicial districts incorporating the parishes were established in the colony; St. James Santee Parish was taken into Charlestown District, and Prince George Parish into Georgetown District.[1]
In 1785, the new State of South Carolina established counties within the judicial districts, with Washington and Marion counties taking in St. James Santee Parish of Charleston District, and Williamsburg and Winyaw (later spelled Winyah) counties taking in Prince George Parish of Georgetown District.[4] These counties did not immediately become functional, and the judicial districts retained their administrative functions.[1]
The 1868 South Carolina State Constitution gave the state districts the uniform designation of county, by which they are still known.[1] In 1882, a new Berkeley County was formed from upland Charleston County, taking in land formerly in Marion and Washington counties; Charleston County retained the coastal lands originally included in Craven County.[1] In 1893, Charleston County expanded northwestward into Berkeley County.[1] The original Craven County's lands now lie in parts of Berkeley, Charleston, Georgetown, and Williamsburg counties

Signer of the Declaration of Independence from South Carolina.
Born near Georgetown, South Carolina, Thomas Lynch, Junior, graduated from Cambridge University and studied law in London. He returned home and married Elizabeth Shubrick, and settled down to life as a lawmaker and wealthy planter.
At the start of the American Revolution, he volunteered for the Army, and while in North Carolina, he became severely ill, possibly from malaria, which left him a semi-invalid for the rest of his life.
While representing South Carolina in the Second Continental Congress, his father, Thomas Lynch Senior suffered a stroke on February 20, 1776, and in March the SC Legislature elected Thomas Jr. to go to Congress to care for his father and to take over his father's duties as an additional delegate. Although in poor health himself, Thomas Jr. found his father too ill to continue, and remained just long enough in Philadelphia to vote for independence and to sign the Declaration of Independence.
Thomas Lynch Sr. eventually improved, but not enough to sign the Declaration of Independence himself. In late 1776, father and son headed home together. While stopping in Annapolis, Maryland, in December 1776, Thomas Senior suffered a second stroke and died. Thomas Jr. reached home, but his own health was failing. Hoping that an ocean voyage and a change in climate would help him recover, he and his wife, Elizabeth, embarked on an ocean voyage in late 1779. The ship was lost at sea with all aboard. The couple had no children.
