The Tyer home place was apparently located three miles northwest of Mill Ridge. Ajax served for more than a year as the first postaster at the Mill Ridge PO.

The citizens of the north end of St. Francis county, A. T., celebrated the 58th anniversary of American Independence, at the house of Maj. CHARLES NEELY, on the 4th ins, by giving a barbacue arid ball. At 3 o'clock P. M. the company marched out to an extensive table, spread in a handsome shade, preceded by the ladies, who being seated, the Declaration of Independence was read by GEO. W. STOKES, Esq. who would have delivered an address on the occasion, but for indisposition. The Rev. Mr. BROOKFIELD made a few remarks, and then the company partook of the dinner prepared for the occasion. After the cloth was removed, the following regular toasts were drank:

>>>The Day we celebrate - Sacred to true Americans, and hateful only to nullifiers and tories.
>>>The President of the United States - In the field against a foreign enemy, or in the cabinet against a domestic foe, alike invincible.
>>>The Union - May it be preserved, when Burrism, Calhounism, and nullification, are dead and for gotten.
>>>The United States of America - Governed by the people, the only legitimate sovereign, office seekers and demagogues should be closely watched.
>>>The Hon. A. H. SEVIER, our Delegate in Congress - He has our entire confidence.
>>>The Hunters of Arkansas - Ever ready at their country's call, to protect booty and beauty.
>>>State Government - We are ready and willing as soon as practicable, to set up for ourselves, and assume our own government.
>>>The Memory of Gen, GEORGE WASHINGTON
>>>THO'S JEFFERSON, Author of the Declaration of Independence The true expounder of the constitution of the United States, and the friend of human liberty.
>>>The State of Kentucky - The oldest of the western states: may she ever maintain, in moral and intellectual force, a high rank in the confederation.
>>>The Marquis DE LAFAYETTE - The hero of two hemispheres, the coadjutor of Washington in the United States; in all his political course he has shown himself a consistent friend to humanity and constitutional liberty.
>>>The Citizens of St. Francis county By their industry and honesty, they will become rich and respectable.
>>>His Excellency JOHN POPE - Chief ploughman of state - he lays his furrows handsomely, and never looks back.
>>>The American Fair - Industrious, virtuous, handsome, and lovely, far above foreign competition, without the aid of any protective system - may we always know how to appreciate their worth

VOLUNTEERS
>>>By Joseph Shaver. Andrew Jackson, our venerable President, and A. H. Sevier, our Delegate in Congress - True and trusty stuff - the more they are rubbed, the brighter they shine.
>>>By Jonathan Fillingim. His Excellency John Pope, Governor of Arkansas - May his veto on the ten section bill ever endear him to the freemen of Arkansas.
>>>By Dan'l Mitchell. Rob't Crittenden - a staunch patriot: those who know him best, love him most
>>>By Maj. B. R. Butler, Long life to the President, and success to his fleet, We'll drink and be merry with all friends that we meet.
>>>By Ajax Tyer. A porcupine saddle, a cobweb pair of unmentionables, and a hard - trotting horse to the enemies of our country.
>>>By James C. Shaver. M. Van Buren, Vice - President of the United States - He met his political persecutors, and conquered: the people are sovereign - let their will prevail.
>>>By Harris Johnson. The citizens of Arkansas- We hear much fear expressed on the side or course of the powers that be: may they be on the lookout, and we doubt not that they will change with the administration.
>>>By Geo. W. Stokes, Esq. The Federal Judiciary of the United States.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
alternate spelling of name: aus dem Haus Hessen translates to "from the House of Hesse"
Margarete, and her brothers, were granted the title, "Born from the House of Hesse, Counts of Dietz and Lords of Lißberg and Bickenbach" by her father in his will of 1562...essentially the title of Landgraf (LandGraves).
"LandGraf" differs from "Graf" in German as:
Graf: title of nobility, typically ruling a Grafschaft (county). Could be a count or countess.
Landgraf: A title of nobility, equivalent to a provincial count, ruling a Landgrafschaft (landgraviate). Landgrafs often had greater authority and ruled over larger, more significant territories than Grafs.
Per the father's will, she technically had no land but rather "Margarethe was compensated with financial resources; She received another severance payment when the last of her brothers still living in freedom died in 1575 and her half-brothers, the landgraves William IV. from Hesse-Kassel, Louis IV. from Hesse-Marburg, Philip II. from Hesse-Rheinfels and George I. from Hesse-darmstadt confiscated the property of the Counts of Dietz."
After her mother's death, Margarethe initially became a lady-in-waiting in the household of her sister-in-law, the landgravine Sabina (1549-1581), wife of her half-brother William IV of Hesse-Kassel. The following year she married on the 31st. December 1567 in Kassel count Johann (Hans) Bernhard von Neu-Eberstein (* 26. June 1545; † 11. April 1574), son of Count Johann Jakob I Neu-Eberstein (1517-1574) and his wife Barbara von Daun-Oberstein († 1546). Her husband died at the age of 28. A little over three years later she married on the 10th. August 1577 the pomeranian Counts Stephan Heinrich von Eberstein (* 10. April 1543; † 1613), son of Count Georg von Everstein and his wife Walburga Countess Schlik from Bassano-Weisskirchen.
